Interview: Laurent Brun-Lafferrere, Lead Vocalist of the Old Skins Band

By Cathy Rockwell

In the United States we don’t hear of too many bands coming from Europe with a genre mix of southern rock and Mississippi blues. But Old Skins’ lead singer, Laurent Brun-Laferrere, is not a stranger to the United States. He lived here for more than ten years and during that time gained a strong appreciation for southern rock, blues and other styles of music as well as a deep respect and admiration for Native American culture. When Laurent returned to France and it was then, the story of Old Skins Band began. Another thing that makes the Old Skins Band “southern rock,” (wink wink) is that they come from the South of France.

When Laurent is not busy writing music and lyrics, or rehearsing, he works hard to promote the band throughout Europe and the United States. Fortunately, he was able to take some time out of his crazy schedule and talk with us about what’s going on with the band.
